57-year-old Carla Jean Baker, of Hickory Flat, Mississippi was fatally injured after being rear-ended by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 40 near West Memphis.
According to reports, Ms. Baker was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram that was stopped in the westbound lanes of I-40 near mile marker 269 due to congested traffic at approximately 11:20 a.m. A westbound Kenworth truck struck the rear of Ms. Baker’s vehicle, forcing a chain-reaction with three other vehicles. A 2004 Nissan Frontier, a 2014 Freightliner truck, and a 2016 Volvo were involved in the ensuing damage.
Conditions at the time of the accident were reportedly cloudy and dry.
