Highway 69 Collision Claims Two Lives in Arkansas

40-year-old Gilberto H. Villatoro-Ochoa (Newark, AR) and 45-year-old Dorothy M. Childress (Batesville, AR) were both fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2020.

At approximately 6:40 p.m. Mr. Villatoro-Ochoa was driving south on Arkansas Highway 69 in Independence County. Ms. Childress was a passenger traveling north on Highway 69 when the vehicle (2005 Chevrolet Equinox) she was traveling in crossed the centerline and struck Mr. Villatoro-Ochoa’s vehicle (1998 Nissan Sentra) head-on in the southbound lane of traffic.

23-year-old Amber Dent (Batesville, AR) and 21-year-old Okoya Ward (Batesville, AR) were injured in the accident.

Conditions were reportedly cloudy and dry.
